Abstract
A majority of Connecticut residents say Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during President Trump's administration have made the country less safe and support the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. State residents favor several reforms of ICE but are split on calls to disband the agency entirely. Most Connecticut residents believe illegal immigration is a very or somewhat serious problem in the country, but far fewer believe it is a problem in Connecticut or in their local town or city. Trump receives low marks from Connecticut residents on his handling of immigration and his overall job performance, though his adherents most often cite his handling of immigration as the reason for their support.
