Abstract
Massachusetts voters may be faced with several prominent ballot questions in the November general election, and Bay Staters are generally supportive of same-day voter registration, decreasing the state income tax, and establishing rent control, while a majority oppose repealing laws which legalized the use of marijuana. In the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, Ed Markey continues to lead Seth Moulton and both candidates hold comfortable leads over prospective Republican challenger John Deaton in the general election. Just over half of Bay Staters approve of Governor Maura Healey's job performance, but she holds large leads over prospective Republican challengers in November. More than half of Massachusetts residents say the cost of living or housing is the most important problem facing the commonwealth.
