Abstract
A majority of Connecticut residents believe prices have increased over the past year and will continue to increase in the coming year. Ahead of the winter heating season, more than three-quarters of state residents are concerned about winter heating costs. State residents' assessment of their personal finances remains largely negative. Regarding holiday shopping, four in ten expect to spend less this year and one-third feel they don't have enough money to cover their holiday shopping. Connecticut residents are generally downbeat on the state and national economies, as a majority feel that the economy is getting worse.
