Abstract
Nearly all Vermont Democrats and Independents say prices on everyday goods have increased in the past twelve months and will increase over the next twelve months, and most believe the overall economy is getting worse. By contrast, less than half of Republicans believe prices have increased or will increase in the next twelve months and most believe the economy is getting better. Just under half of Vermonters believe their household will be worse off a year from now, with many expecting increasing inflation and poor economic stewardship. A record low percentage of state residents believe Vermont businesses will experience good times in the next year.
