"Republicans in Maine Optimistic About National Economy, Downbeat on St" by UNH Survey Center

All UNH Survey Center Polls

Abstract

Mainers are more likely to expect good business conditions in the country than in Maine over the next year. This is largely because Republicans in the state are optimistic about the national and pessimistic about the state economy, while Democrats are pessimistic on the prospects for both the state and national economies. Half of Mainers think Trump’s tariffs will harm the national economy and most expect that tariffs will raise the cost of goods.
