Abstract
Granite Staters say they are worse off financially than a year ago and report struggling to afford basic necessities and paying winter energy costs. However, New Hampshire residents are slightly more optimistic about their future finances and the overall business conditions in the state. Most say they have been impacted by rising interest rates, and that high interest rates have made them less likely to purchase a car. Nearly three-quarters of residents feel that affordable housing is a serious problem in the state and Granite Staters most often attribute this issue to a lack of supply, greed, and out of state or wealthy buyers.
