Description
A music manuscript folio with the notation for two songs called "A New Minuet" on the front. The inner pages contain notation for the songs; "A New Minuet", "A New Minuet", "A Minuet", "Demolition of the Bastile", "A New Country Dance", and "Tristram Shandy". The back page contains notation for three songs called "A New Minuet". Sources and some dancing figures are listed on the manuscript. Part of the collection of songs and dances from the 17th and 18th centuries gathered by Bessie Osgood; The first "A New Minuet" is in B-flat major and 3/4 time; the second "A New Minuet" is in D major and 3/4 time; the first "A New Minuet" on the inner page is in A major and 3/4 time; the second "A New Minuet" on the inner page is in D major and 3/4 time; "A Minuet" is in E major and 3/4 time; "Demolition of the Bastile" is in C major and 6/8 time; "A New Country Dance" is in A major and 4/4 time; "Tristram Shandy" is in D major and 4/4 time; The first "A New Minuet" on the back page is in D major and 3/4 time; the second "A New Minuet" on the back page is in G major and 3/4 time; the third "A New Minuet" on the back page is in D major and 3/4 time.
