Description
A music manuscript folio with the notation for the songs "The Toast", "Rakes of Perth" and "The Jugglers" on the front, as well as two fragments of songs with lyrics. The inner pages contain notation for the songs; "Smirking Nancy", "The Sailor's Rant", "Maggies Tocher", "Will O' The Wisp", "The Bedford Lion", "Amelia", and "The Bucks of Breadhelmsted". The back page is blank. Sources are listed on the manuscript. Part of the collection of songs and dances from the 17th and 18th centuries gathered by Bessie Osgood; "The Toast" is in A major and 6/8 time; "Rakes of Perth" is in G major and 2/4 time; "The Jugglers" is in B-flat major and 6/8 time; "Smirking Nancy" is in E minor and 4/4 time; "The Sailor's Rant" is in G major and 6/8 time; "Maggies Tocher" is in G major and 2/4 time; "Will O' The Wisp" is in G major and 4/4 time; "The Bedford Lion" is in A major and 4/4 time; "Amelia" is in F major and 12/8 time; "The Bucks of Breadhelmsted" is in A major and 12/8 time.
