Description
A music manuscript folio with the notation for the song "French Minuet" on the front. The inner pages contain notation for the songs; "Gavotte Pastorale de Martini"—which is the Gavotte from Giovanni Battista Martini's Sonata No. 12—"The Spanish Patriot", and "The London Assembly". The back has notation and lyrics for "By the Gayly-Circling Glass", which comes from Act 1 of Thomas Arne's opera Comus. Sources are listed on the manuscript. Part of the collection of songs and dances from the 17th and 18th centuries gathered by Bessie Osgood; ^"French Minuet" is in G minor and 3/4 time; "Gavotte Pastorale de Martini" is in F major and 2/4 time; "The Spanish Patriot" is in C major and 6/8 time; "The London Assembly" is in B-flat major and 2/4 time; "By the Gayly-Circling Glass" is in D major and 4/4 time.
