Abstract

Incumbent Senator Ed Markey’s lead over Congressman Seth Moulton has narrowed in the September Democratic primary election in Massachusetts. Markey and Moulton are both favored in general election matchups with presumptive Republican Senate nominee John Deaton. Michael Minogue leads Brian Shortsleeve in the race for the Republican nomination for governor. Maura Healey's job approval as governor has fallen to its lowest level in nearly two years, but she is still tipped to win over either Minogue or Shortsleeve. A plurality of residents think the commonwealth is headed in the right direction and a majority believe housing or the cost of living is the most important problem.
