Abstract

Incumbent Democratic Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont continues to lead Josh Elliott in the race for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2026, but support for Elliott has inched upward in recent months. Support for Lamont is high among the political center and older voters, while those further left and young voters show more support for Elliott. Lamont leads presumptive Republican nominee Ryan Fazio in a general election matchup. Connecticut residents are split on whether the state is headed in the right direction or on the wrong track, with Democrats and women more likely to see it as headed in the right direction.
