Vermonters Strongly Disapprove of Trump Presidency, Most Expect Recession 3/27/2025

Abstract

Two-thirds of Vermont residents disapprove of President Trump's performance as president, with many claiming he is undermining democracy or the Constitution. Most also disapprove of Trump's handling of the conflict in Ukraine. Concerning the economy, seven in ten Vermonters expect a recession within twelve months and most disapprove of Trump's use of tariffs. A majority of state residents support forbidding female transgender athletes in women’s sports.
