Abstract

Four in five New Hampshire residents think illegal immigration is a serious issue in the U.S., although far fewer think it is a serious issue in New Hampshire. The percentage of residents who think illegal immigration is a serious problem has remained steady since 2011. The greatest concerns about illegal immigration are high costs, that it depletes U.S. resources, and crime. Half favor constructing a wall on the southern border and a plurality believe former President Donald Trump would do a better job handling illegal immigration.
