Abstract

More than half of likely Republican primary voters in Vermont support former President Donald Trump and most of his supporters say that they have definitely decided to vote for him. Trump is followed distantly by former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. On the Democratic side, which most likely primary voters plan to participate in, three-quarters support President Joe Biden while Minnesota Representative Dean Phillips and author Marianne Williamson garner very little support. Six in ten Vermonters agree with the decision to disqualify Trump from the primary ballot in Maine.
