Abstract

Incumbent senator Kelly Ayotte and governor Maggie Hassan remain deadlocked for New Hampshire’s U.S. Senate seat although Ayotte’s favorability ratings have dropped since February. A majority of Granite State likely voters believe the Senate should hold a vote on Supreme Court appointee Merrick Garland and two in five likely voters say Ayotte’s position that the Senate should wait until the next president is elected to confirm a nominee has made them less likely to vote for her.
