Post Primary: Sununu Holds Double-Digit Lead Over Sherman in NH Governor Race 9/21/2022

Abstract

Incumbent Governor Chris Sununu leads his little-known Democratic challenger Tom Sherman in the 2022 race for Governor of New Hampshire. Sununu enjoys near universal support among Republicans and holds a commanding lead among Independents. A majority of New Hampshire adults continue to approve of Sununu's job performance but residents are less likely to approve than they were in September 2020, directly before Sununu's previous re-election. Democrats and Republicans are largely equally matched in elections to the Executive Council and State Senate while Republicans hold a small lead in elections for the State House of Representatives.
