Abstract

Despite improving economic conditions in New Hampshire, the percentage of New Hampshire residents who are optimistic about their personal finances for the coming year has reached a record low and nearly two-thirds think now is a bad time to buy a major household item. The economic pessimism is bipartisan - less than one in five Democrats and Republicans feel they will be better off a year from now.
