Abstract
"Linking wage data to student decisions" is a podcast interview with Mark Schneider, President of College Measures. Schneider in his work with College Measures seeks to provide students and families with useful data to better assess a degree’s return on investment. While a strong advocate for using economic data to inform degree, program, and institution selection by students and families, Schneider cautions against the use of these data in developing performance metrics to be used in performance based funding. Schneider also provides his thoughts and insights on how data transparency can be best utilized by the Department of Education and developing methods of addressing the long-term value of a degree or credential and what is needed for a student unit record system.
Interview facilitation, commentary and discussion presented by Kathryn Dodge, Alison Griffin, and Elise Scanlon of Radio Higher Ed.
