Abstract
Craft brewing has become a source of economic growth in the Richmond Virginia area. This project is the opening of a new Nano-(craft)brewery and tasting room in the Richmond area by using the PMBOK waterfall method. It encompasses the whole process of developing a business plan, and physically opening a new business, including leasing and remodeling the property, gaining governmental permits and licensing, obtaining funding, and fulfilling marketing needs, as well as hosting the grand opening event. This project was selected because the team was interested in providing additional local craft brew libations and entertainment. Additionally, this was an opportunity to ensure that it had a dedicated project manager, and was monitored and controlled properly. At this point, the project is still in progress. It is at the stage of selecting a location, and developing a facility plan for the remodel, which are major tasks in the critical path.
