Abstract
Leadership is the driving force behind most organizations. The purpose of this study is to explore the link between leadership and organizational turnover. In researching these two topics the question was posed “How do the various styles of leadership affect turnover rates?” Turnover has become an issue of increasing prominence within organizations and it is important to determine what, if any, impact leadership has on this topic. This study utilized a online survey of graduate students, college level faculty, as well as individuals working in the private sector. The survey asked participants questions about their experiences with leadership, past and present, and categorized those responses into three main styles of leadership: Democratic, Autocratic and Lassiez-Faire for analysis.
