Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to identify and examine the volunteer management in the White Mountain National Forest Districts. Volunteers have played a major role in the forest service for years, providing labor for a mutually beneficial cause. Research was conducted to better understand whether volunteers are used in effective and efficient way in the White Mountain National Forest Districts. This project reviewed current literature on volunteer management and volunteers in the forest service. Informational interviews were conducted with forest service staff and a survey amongst volunteers was performed to gather data. The results of the surveys are included in the data and analysis section and conclusions are made from those results in management of volunteers.
