The Hugemanities Project Big Contest
Sleep, Sex, and Happiness
As a researcher in the field of psychology, I am deeply intrigued by the intricate interplay between sex, sleep, and happiness and its profound implications for human well-being. Over the last five years, I underwent many visits to somnologists and eventually ear nose and throat specialists to schedule tonsil removal to combat my obstructive sleep apnea. Ever since then sleep has fascinated me. I never knew it played such a large role until I experienced first-hand the difference beforehand and after the surgery. I had never had good sleep before. Understanding how factors such as sexual satisfaction, sleep quality, and emotional fulfillment interact with one another in playing into one’s happiness can provide valuable insights into promoting subjective well-being across their lifespan.
