Abstract
This project evaluates land use at Camp Bernadette in order to understand which activity spaces are in need of resources, which activity spaces are enjoyed most, and what new activities campers might want to see in currently underutilized spaces. By doing this, Camp Bernadette can maintain safe activity spaces and offer fun programming for their participants. Evidence was compiled through surveys filled out by camp staff and campers from the summer of 2022. The evaluation revealed an overall need for increased maintenance, especially at the waterfront. It also suggests that Camp Bernadette should repurpose their nature base and dance hall, and that their waterfront and sports programs would be improved by reinstating well-liked activities and introducing a few new ones to allow for increased free play and socialization. With these findings, Camp Bernadette can apply evidence-based management to make informed decisions and be more successful.
