Abstract
This research examines the use of the phrase "I feel like" as an epistemic hedge - a tool used by participants in conversation to announce that they are not entirely certain of the validity or accuracy of something they are about to say. In this research, "I feel like" is identified as being distinct from other previously identified and researched epistemic hedges through how it accomplishes this goal in conversation.
