Abstract
This paper explores the history of dune preservation at Ogunquit Beach in the state of Maine. Drawn from town and state records, newspaper articles, as well as photographic evidence and oral interviews, J. Taylor Pearson investigates the causes of dune erosion, and the way in which activism began to save the town of Ogunquit's most important natural treasure.
