Abstract

Trout Face is a collection of poems written from 2023-2025 and compiled for the thesis requirement for the degree of Master of Fine Arts in Poetry at the University of New Hampshire. Through various poetic forms and points of view, this collection explores themes such as family, coming of age, language, friendship, and work. Imagery, repetition, and sound appear as primary poetic elements in this collection. Together, these elements work to convey, among other things, a search for identity and connection.
