Abstract
Inner Workings is a short story collection that explores the core aspects of what it means to be human. There is focus on love, human connection and intimacy, as well as many iterations of grief. Through both literary fiction and a couple select science fiction pieces I attempt to explore and experiment with a lot of the existential questions, like what does make us human? Why are we here? What do we do with what we are given and what do we do when we lose the things most important to us? The final two selections are the beginnings of pieces that I anticipate being much longer and more developed, but still ultimately explore the same ideas.
