Abstract
This collection of eighteen stories resists the traditional structure of the short story. Often bereft of an epiphany or light at the end of the tunnel, these stories try to capture snapshots of life in the current age – the disillusionment, helplessness, and anger that many young people feel. Literary fiction melts into sci-fi and horror, using absurdism and surrealism as a means to show the realities of late-stage capitalism, generational trauma, and mental illness.
