Abstract

Approval of President Trump's job performance among New Hampshire Republicans has hit a record high, along with the percentage of Republicans who feel the country is headed in the right direction. While Granite Staters overall continue to disapprove of Trump's use of tariffs and fear they will lead to substantially higher prices for goods, Republicans are warming up to tariffs, with most anticipating only a slight increase in prices and a net positive effect for the economy. A slight majority in New Hampshire feel the country is on the wrong track, with many citing the president or Republicans in power or threats to the country or democracy as the reason for their pessimism.
