Abstract

Democrat Helena Foulkes leads Independent Ken Block and Republican Aaron Guckian in the race for governor of Rhode Island and incumbent Democratic Senator Jack Reed holds a comfortable lead over Republican Raymond McKay in the race for Senate. The race for lieutenant governor is far closer, with incumbent Democrat Sabina Matos in a statistical tie with Republican John Loughlin. Outgoing Governor Dan McKee’s job approval continues to fall. Rhode Islanders largely oppose efforts to re-launch trucking tolls and bipartisan majorities doubt the new Washington Bridge will be open by the newly-announced scheduled date in November 2028.
