Abstract

Democrat Troy Jackson and Republican incumbent Susan Collins remain in a statistical tie for Maine's U.S. Senate seat, largely unchanged since July. In the races for Congress, Democrat Matthew Dunlap is statistically tied with former Governor Paul LePage, while incumbent Democrat Chellie Pingree holds a comfortable lead over Republican Ronald Russell in the 1st District. Democrat Hannah Pingree leads the race for governor over Republican Bobby Charles. Mainers largely disapprove of outgoing Governor Janet Mills' job performance. Three-quarters of Mainers are very or somewhat concerned about trade issues between the U.S. and Canada. Mainers are divided about the state's program sending "affordability checks" to eligible citizens and many who believe they are eligible say they never received one.
