Abstract
"Federal student loan servicing: A podcast primer" is a podcast interview with Ben Miller, Senior Director of Postsecondary Education at the Center for American Progress. Miller delivers a podcast primer on the role of Direct Loan servicers. How loan servicers help borrowers manage repayment of their loans is discussed. The role of the federal government in loan servicing as well as the companies that currently service student loans and the selection process used to select them is detailed. Roles and responsibilities of loan servicers are outlined and loan default and tools servicers use to help borrowers prevent defaults is explained.
