Abstract
"Sarah Flanagan on federal unit records: Use of student unit records data to improve higher education outcomes" is a podcast interview with Sarah Flanagan, Vice President of Government Relations and Policy Development at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). Flanagan discusses the recent history in regards to the development of a federal unit records system for higher education, including a discussion of the moratorium issued by Congress. Additionally, highlighting the challenges of having a federal record system, Flanagan discusses how states have handled their record systems along with what issues might be reasons for concern should the federal government develop system.
