Abstract
"The Seven futures of American education, teaching and learning in a screen captured world" is a discussion with John Sener regarding his book of the same title. A part of the Author Series from Radio Higher Ed, Sener discusses his findings regarding the future of technology and its relationship to higher education. Sener contends American education has been “cyberized” and thus is inextricably tied to technology. Sener comments on how the relationship between technology and education prompts society to question the purpose of education, especially with regard to our economy. Sener further warns that calls for reform which view education too simply can be harmful in extremes, but leveraging reforms may be useful in moderation.
Interview facilitation, commentary and discussion presented by Kathryn Dodge, Alison Griffin, and Elise Scanlon of Radio Higher Ed.
