Abstract
"Governors’ priorities: Completion and productivity in an era of scarcity" is a podcast interview with Travis Reindl, Program Director with the National Governors Association. Reindl discusses why governors are interested in completion rates within higher education and offers insights and recommendations for state policy makers regarding the future of postsecondary education. Specifically, Reindl asserts the need for a paradigm shift amongst the American public and policy makers regarding how we define postsecondary education and also how we fund postsecondary education. Reindl offers looking at funding higher education as a form of investment with a focus on producing yields that are best suited for the state or regional economy. Reindl also further advocates for flexibility in exploring alternative methods of education delivery and encouraging education innovation.
