Abstract
"Direct assessment: Early adopter experiences" is a two- part podcast interview with Paul LeBlanc, president of Southern New Hampshire University and Scott Kinney, president of Capella University. LeBlanc and Kinney’s institutions were the first to be approved by the Department of Education for direct assessment. Both discuss the process and challenges in creating College for America and Flex Path, their respective programs, which utilize competency based education. They also offer their insights as to the future and impact of competency based education programs like these on higher education.
