Abstract
Dr. Robyn Barbato is from the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory where she studies the permafrost microbiome. She and her research group have thawed and mixed terrestrial ice and permafrost to study the resulting microbiome. They have also cultivated and characterized isolates from permafrost to beer understand their behaviors and biomaterials.
