Abstract
The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the concept of morale within organizations, to explore the influence that employees and/or leadership have on it, and to suggest improvement. Positive morale is often correlated with greater levels of engagement, productivity, job satisfaction and reduced levels of disengagement, absenteeism and turnover. Understanding how morale is influenced will provide valuable insight for leaders for the development and practice of techniques to improve and/or maintain positive morale in their organization. End results demonstrate that leaders have the greatest influence on employee morale which underscores the responsibility incumbent on leaders to engage in interactions and processes that foster the development of positive morale.
