Policies

The Journal of Motorsport Culture & History aims to provide quality motorsport based academic research based on cultural or historical inquiries.

JMCH will not consider manuscripts that are under current or future consideration with other journals. Prior to an article being placed in review, Turnitin Software will be utilized to check for redundancy. An unsuccessful check may result in the manuscript being rejected. Those who attempt to submit a published article to another publication may have their work retracted.

Manuscripts are subject to a peer review process. The peer review process will involve two or more double-blind reviewers. For manuscripts that have student authors, students with scholarly experience may be utilized as a reviewer.

In the true spirit of an open access journal, the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History will never require submission or publication charges.

The editorial board may include undergraduate and/or graduate students. Set terms for these students will be set by the management and editorial boards.

Anyone can submit original manuscripts for consideration to JMCH, provided that the author(s) own the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner(s) to submit the article. Typically, authors are the original owners of the copyrights to their works, unless they have agreed to transfer copyright to their employer. Manuscript submitters will be added to the JMCH reviewer pool and may have the opportunity to serve as a peer reviewer on future submissions.

General Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to JMCH may not have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print, electronic, etc.). Working papers and/or previous conference papers/presentations may be considered. By submitting to the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History, the author(s) certifies that the current manuscript is not under review with another journal (any format), and that said manuscript will not be submitted to another journal (any format) until the editorial process has concluded with the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History. Should a manuscript be published, any future submissions of the published manuscript to other journals may result in the published manuscript being retracted. If you have concerns about the submission conditions for the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History, please contact us directly.

The Journal of Motorsport Culture & History welcomes all types of original research and historical essays, which include, but are not limited to, qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, interpretive essays, and other formats as deemed appropriate by our editorial board.
