Critical Sizes for Stable Multiply Charged CO2 Clusters
Abstract
Because of Coulomb explosion, multiply charged clusters (CO2)z+n are observed in mass spectra only if their size n exceeds a critical value which has been determined as for doubly, triply and quadruply charged clusters, respectively. The onset of stability above nz∗ occurs abruptly
