Multiphoton Ionization Studies of Xenon Clusters

Abstract

Non-resonant multiphoton ionization of xenon clusters has revealed the same magic numbers as found in the case of electron impact ionization. Large dissociation rates are found for the trimer through pentamer ion, measured on a time scale of ≈ 10−7 s after ionization.
