Abstract
We are developing cyberinfrastructure to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing for marine Integrated Ecosystem Assessments (IEAs). The main tool is based on a web application (IPython Notebook) that provides the ability to work on very diverse and heterogeneous data and information sources, providing an effective way to share the source code used to generate data products and associated metadata, as well as to track the workflow provenance to allow the reproducibility of a data product.
Presenter Bio
Massimo Di Stefano is a Software Engineer on staff at the Tetherless World Constellation - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He works from Woods Hole, MA with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) on the ECO-OP (Employing Cyber Infrastructure Data Technologies to Facilitate Integrated Ecosystem Approach for Climate Impacts in North East & California Large Marine Ecosystems) project with Professor Peter Fox and collaborators from WHOI. He has spent several years developing Geographical Free and Open Source Software, with current development activities in GRASS, OSSIM, QGIS and OSGeo Live projects.
Massimo came to RPI from Eboli, Italy, graduating with a Master Degree in Environmental Science from "Istituto Universitario Partenophe," specializing in Marine Ecosystem.
