The Use of Portable Piloting Units
Abstract
The use of portable pilot units (PPU) has the potential to increase safety by providing maritime pilots with a comfortable and familiar environment in which to work. However, concerns have been raised as to whether or not the technology hides possible potential dangers. Dr Lee Alexander and Michael J Casey discuss the results of a recent study into the use of PPUs.
