Description
1820-1830. White cotton stockings, with white embroidered chevrons joined into zigzags of the same yarn forming the clocks (ornamentation extending up the calf from the ankle) on both inside and outside of each stocking. The welt (top) is plain.
Each is identified with the cross-stitch embroidered initials "E.C. 13" at the top. Handmade.
