Abstract

Nearly half of Maine residents and nearly all Republicans in the state say that voter fraud is very or somewhat serious in the country and more than one-third believe non-citizens voting, mail-in or absentee vote fraud, and voter impersonation occur frequently in the country. Slightly fewer believe the issue is serious in Maine itself. Net approval of President Trump's handling of the economy and foreign policy have fallen to their lowest points in Trump's second term. More than two-thirds say the conflict with Iran is going poorly but Mainers are divided on the path forward, with Democrats favoring a quick end even under unfavorable circumstances and Republicans favoring a continuation or escalation of hostilities. Following the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, more than half of Mainers, particularly those under the age of 50, believe the government is withholding important information about the attacks.
