Abstract
This is a collection of linked nonfiction essays. These essays are connected thematically by the exploration of both concrete and abstract ideas of coverings and identity. For example, clothing is a physical covering over a body, soil is the covering over our Earth, and racial identity, which, as a covering, changes the way one experiences the world.
