Abstract

The purpose of this project is to divine the best practice for leading an age-diverse organization through leadership change. A literature review was completed to review the knowledge about organizational change, age-diversity and leadership during organizational change. The literature suggested the need for a clear vision, tailored communication, employee involvement, understanding how change impacts employees, perceptions of change, and generational perceptions (taking age related traits and needs into consideration). This project used these criteria to create a plan for guiding an age-diverse staff through the transition of the retirement of the founder of an organization.
