Photograph of a teacher and students at a school in Stalinabad (Dushanbe), taken by Lotte Jacobi in Tajikistan, Central Asia, ca. 1932-1933. Four students, three girls and a boy, are gathered around a balance scale in a classroom. The teacher, a man dressed in a thick coat with a fur collar and a belt, is pointing at one side of the scale. The children are dressed in coats and most are wearing embroidered hats or headscarves.
