Understanding Caregiver Factors Influencing Childhood Influenza Vaccination

Jennifer Lyon, University of New Hampshire

The purpose of this quantitative study was to gain an understanding about factors that influence caregivers in making the decision whether or not to vaccinate their children against influenza. This study replicated an existing survey instrument based on the Health Belief Model to collect data from a convenience sample of subjects. The knowledge generated from the survey may be used to formulate education programs to increase vaccination rates.
