1938. Dress shoes. Blue satin sandals with a vamp (toe) constructed out of straps and shaped into a rounded toe profile and box. The quarters (backs) are sewn together at center back and have openwork at the base of the T-strap, which is closed with a plain buckle with three grommets; the original owner has poked an additional hole for a tighter fit. The sole is leather with a knock-on fabric-covered Cuban heel. The insole is lined with pink satin, which is stamped in gold with the maker's label. Professionally made. Machine-sewn.
The original shoe box and accompanying advertising materials are still associated with the shoes.
